Trends in Wedding Cakes 2016
With the arrival of summer, the wedding season is now in full stride. Weddings are more than just about love--it is about having the most beautiful of everything for that special moment! The centrepiece of any event is the cake, and choosing one that speaks to the bride and groom is tricky. It is not just about the look but how it tastes and the flavours and fillings to infuse. To keep things fun, exciting and chic, incorporating emerging trends are a must. Here are some of the trends we have been seeing for Wedding Cakes:
Painted cakes (Watercolour): Hand-painted scenes directly onto the cake
Metallic cakes: High sheen metallic gloss onto the cake’s surface or in the cake’s details
Lace cakes: The look of embroidered lace doilies or handkerchiefs draped over the cake
Woodland-themed cakes: Accessorized with herbs, small bits of greenery and vines
Geometric-patterned cakes: Dressed up in chevron, octagonal and other popular shapes and icons White-on-White cakes: All decked out in white, using different textures as the focal point Naked cakes: Bearing it all—being able to see the cake in all its’ glory, fillings and flavours!
Ruffled cakes: A light and airy look, decorating with large or small modern ruffles around the cake Download or Print
