Propylene glycol is a viscous, colourless liquid with a faint sweet taste. It is used in food manufacturing to help baked goods maintain moisture and flavour quality for longer periods of time. It can also be added to frostings, candies, and flavourings to help distribute flavouring throughout the product. Other uses include: anti-caking agent, emulsifier, stabilizer, and thickener.
